Faith tossed the crossbow to Wesley, rolling her eyes as he fumbled the
catch.
"Not filling me with confidence here."
"I assure you that I'm proficient with most weapons. It's part of my
training."
She picked up an apple Giles had abandoned and balanced it on her head.
"Feel like playing William Tell, Wes?"
He raised the crossbow without hesitation and watched her flinch as his
trigger finger tightened. It was all the victory he could ever want.
"We're not here to play, Faith."
He took the apple off her head and bit into it.
The worm was unexpectedly chewy.
