The salmon, scales gleaming silver even in death, lies sedately on ice.
Xander remembers
catching his first salmon, John encouraging him, the
humiliation of a tangled line forgotten. John… A good man, but not the
right one for Xander.
"Are you in the mood for fish?"
Xander turns and grins at Giles, loving him for being
exactly the right choice. "If we weren't in Tesco,
I'd show you what I'm in the mood for."
Giles raises his eyebrows and pushes the almost empty cart away. "Home.
Now."
It's the perfect romantic gesture until the cart crashes into the baked
beans.
